About the Rotary Watch Company
The Rotary watch company began in the Swiss city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, with the founder Moise Dreyfuss first opening the factory doors in 1895. From the very beginning through to the present day, the company has always been a family run business built upon the strong principle of producing watches of extremely high quality and value.
Rotary watches first became available to the British consumer in 1920, when George and Sylvain Dreyfuss expanded the rotary watch industry and opened its first office in Britain. Later that year the company introduced the now famous Rotary logo, the "winged wheel", a symbol that represents everything the Rotary brand stands for.
Rotary soon became a leading watch brand in Britain and in 1940 was appointed as the official watch supplier to the British Army during the Second World War instantly making it a household name.
Today, Rotary watches are sold in over 35 countries worldwide and still proves to be at the very forefront of watch pioneering development and recently introduced The Dolphin Standard in 2005. This hi-tech collection demonstrate a high level of water resistance, allowing the wearer to swim and dive while wearing the watch. In recent years Rotary has also expanded as a jewellery brand, winning several awards including jewellery supplier of the year in 2002 and 2003.
